Salary: £45.089 - £53,115 per annum (Including London Allowance)

About the role
Required to start on 1 October 2021 (at latest 1 January 2022), we are looking to appoint a Lecturer on a fixed term basis for 3 years (AER or Teaching & Research). The position will be suitable for teachers of Translation Studies with experience in East Asian languages/area studies, comparative literature, translation theory, and related fields such as cultural studies, translation technology, subtitling and dubbing.
You will need to demonstrate the following:
The successful applicant is expected to convene and mark a Summer School module from 2022, and will also contribute administrative responsibilities at the Centre for Translation Studies at SOAS as Deputy Chair and undertake up to 7 or 14 hours teaching hours per week (depending on nature of contract, AER or T&R).
AER contract - we expect you to have a strong record of teaching Translation Studies and familiarity with the UK teaching context, and it is desirable for the appointee to have a teaching certificate and Outputs relating to scholarships.
Teaching & Research contract, we expect you to have a strong research profile in terms of publications, collaboration, external research funding, impact and knowledge transfer.
