About the Role
We are looking for a Lecturer in International Business and Marketing (Academic Education Route – Teaching Focused), who shares the department’s interest towards contemporary global issues in the fields of international business, marketing, and management more generally. The position will be for one year.
You will be expected to teach modules at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels, in both on campus and Online and Distance Learning programmes, to undertake academic advising and dissertation supervision, and to contribute to the administrative tasks in the department. Regional specialism in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East is welcome but not essential. Examples of modules that the role holder will teach include Quantitative and Analytical Techniques for Managers; Trends, Forecasts And Decision Making; and Project Management. The person will have expertise that is relevant to the vision and strategy of SOAS, including a strong interest towards issues of particular importance to the Global South.
About the Department
Research at the School of Finance and Management aims to address some among the most pressing theoretical issues and policy challenges in contemporary world, like, for example, sustainability, data science, globalization, financial stability, economic growth and inequality, and climate change. The main fields of research in the School of Finance and Management include Finance, Financial Inclusion and Growth; Corporate Finance; Comparative Corporate Governance; International Business and Marketing; Business and Management in China, Japan and the Middle East; Environmental Economics and Management; Sustainable Finance; Regulatory Policies; Public Financial Management. Attached to the School of Finance and Management are the Centre for Global Finance and the Centre for Trust Research.
The School of Finance and Management offers high quality research (MPhil/PhD), postgraduate, undergraduate and specialist training programmes on Accounting and Finance; Management; International Business; International Marketing; Finance; Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Strategy; and Public Policy and Management. Attached to the School of Finance and Management is the Centre for Financial and Management Studies (CeFiMS), which provides Distance Learning MSc programmes in the fields of Finance, Banking, Finance and Financial Law, International Business, Public Policy and Management, and Public Financial Management.
