About the Role
The Accounts Payable Supervisor will lead and oversee the Accounts Payable function, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of all supplier invoices, staff expenses, and payment runs (domestic and international). You will drive efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with the School’s Financial Procedures, while fostering a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement.
You are accountable for supervising and developing a high-performing team, embedding strong financial controls, and contributing to wider Finance transformation initiatives, including automation, systems enhancements, and process optimisation.

About the Department
The Finance and Planning Department is part of the central administration of SOAS University of London.
The department is responsible for leading on the:
- annual finance and planning cycles including supporting staff in financial and student number budgeting, forecasting and reporting
- financial analysis to support decision-making, investment appraisal and performance benchmarking
- preparing returns and audited statutory accounts for submission to regulatory bodies
- processing and maintenance of the School’s financial receipts and payments
- compliance with internal financial controls and tax legislation
- procurement and value for money exercises
The principal financial software is Agresso Business World (Unit4).
